India
One morning, as I was photographing Delhi wake up, I asked a passerby where I could buy a glass of Chai tea. He waved at me to follow him. As we entered the narrow, maze-like alleys of the slums, I started to feel uneasy but decided to trust the smiling old man.

Slum Prince
In the slums of Delhi, indoor plumbing does not exist. The tenants are forced to use open sewers and go to few and far between points in the slums where there are spigots for fresh water. They (often the children) will sometimes wait in line for hours to fill their plastic jerry cans.

The Jeffersons
In the slums of Delhi, the dwellings are packed and stacked anywhere and everywhere.

Vegetarians
The level of hygiene in many of the local markets in Delhi is appalling. Refrigeration is rare and many places are devoid of fresh running water.

Toil
I could smell that we were getting close to the spice market before we even arrived. Familiar and exotic fragrances filled my nostrils and stuck to my clothes. As we neared, the sweet aromatic scent changed to something more sinister, harsher. My eyes began to water and as I wiped away the tears, I saw why…thousands of burlap bags of dried chillies, piled high causing me to gasp in between involuntary fits of coughing and sneezing.
