Europe
I moved to Madrid, Spain in 1995 for my junior year of university. I focused my studies in Sociology and Gender Relations. It was here that I fell in love with the Spanish culture and way of life. A culture whose foundation is built on maximized enjoyment of life and not focused on just work, made a huge impact on me that carries on until today.

As a frustrated pianist, this photo has always spoken to me. At 13, I quit playing the piano and it has become one of my biggest regrets. This is one of my favorite photographs.

A gypsy beggar in Bologna, Italy. This photograph reminds me of photos of the Great Depression by Dorothea Lange.

P.O.W.
One of my favorite shots. I spent almost an hour shooting as airplanes landed at a local airport: all of them were modern commercial planes. My poor buddy Ron had had enough of waiting around for me and I promised him we’d go after shooting just one more landing. Luckily this was the last shot. I “panned” the plane as it landed and was lucky to catch it in the frame with the barbed wire. The image always reminded me of images of the Berlin Airlift.
